The Greater Yellowstone Regional Entrepreneurship & SBIR Summit will bring nearly 20 federal program managers from a dozen different agencies responsible for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs to Bozeman August 17-18. SBIR and the smaller STTR programs provide $2.5 Billion annually to small U.S. businesses, and over 100 Montana firms have won over $175 million through these programs. These are grants or contracts (depending on agency) that fund development of innovative new products or services, anything from selecting plants to improve contaminated soils, to advanced laser technologies, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and much more.
