CLYDE PARK

About Clyde Park

North of Livingston, Clyde Park is nestled in a valley along the scenic Shields River and surrounded by the spectacular Crazy and Bridger Mountains, which provide recreation opportunities ranging from hunting to fishing to hiking.

The town is home to many cattle ranches and other agricultural operations including grain production. Clyde Park also includes a handful of small but vital and thriving businesses such as a grocery store, and an excellent coffee shop. Shields Valley High School and Shields Valley Junior High School, which also serves the nearby community of Wilsall, are also located in Clyde Park.

Key Industry / Major Employer

Founded as a ranching community in the late 1800s, agriculture is still a key economic industry in the Clyde Park area nearly 150 years later.

Service is the largest industry in the town (38%) with retail trade coming in second (28%). Formerly, the Crazy Mountain Ranch was a major regional employer. The ranch was sold in 2023.
