While Livingston is the county seat of and largest community in Park County, it still has that small-town charm. With its historic buildings and views of the Absaroka Mountains to the south and the historic Northern Pacific train depot to the north, Livingston’s Main Street is a nod to Western history. But its diverse small businesses, working rail yard, and modern amenities show Livingston is looking ahead.
Livingston is also Park County’s hub for arts and culture. The city includes more than a dozen art galleries and artists’ cooperatives plus restaurants, a movie theater, independent bookstores, and multiple venues for live music and theater.
Livingston’s location near the Absarokas, the Crazy Mountains, the Yellowstone River, and Yellowstone National Park provides endless opportunities for getting outdoors in any season.
The city includes elementary schools, a middle school, and the county’s largest high school.

With the construction of its new hospital, Livingston HealthCare, the largest employer in Park County, ensures healthcare will continue to be a growing sector. Printing For Less, the nation’s first e-commerce commercial printer, employs nearly 200 people. Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad maintains a presence in the community and continues to conduct locomotive maintenance at its repair facility.
